An Artificial Thermal Nociceptor Based on Xanthan Gum‐Gated Synaptic Transistors to Emulate Human Thermal Nociception

Nociceptors are kinds of sensory neurons that send warning information to the central nervous system in response noxious stimuli. Thermal nociception happens as thermal stimulus exceeds 45 °C this temperature is perceived be potentially harmful. Simulating function great significance developing bioinspired electronic skins and humanoid robots, which thus creates more demands for devices can simulate nociception. Herein, an artificial nociceptor (ATN) fabricated by integrating a sensor synaptic transistor, pain threshold human body operates very similar way transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1). For ATN, sensing realized graphite–polydimethylsiloxane (Gr–PDMS) composite sensor, functions, well features, emulated through transistor using xanthan gum polysaccharide electrolyte gate dielectric, providing energy-efficient building blocks brain-inspired computation systems. In word, ATN proposed help open new avenue provides possibilities design systems with functions perception feedback.
